True Identity is a collection of poems which focus on different phases of my life. Each poem stems from my life experiences that I feel others can connect and or relate to. The title of my book set well with me because from the moment I took my first breath into the world, I was not given my father's last name. I believe that this has played a key role in who I have identified with as a youth, adolescent and an adult.
